Ingredients & Safety List
At Little Beehive Farm we use many ingredients besides honey and beeswax to produce our homemade products. We take great care to ensure that all our ingredients are of the highest quality while still being able to maintain reasonable pricing. We are very sensitive to individuals who have food, environment, or other allergies and sensitivities. Though we use only natural ingredients in our products, this doesn’t mean you wont be allergic or sensitive to our products. If you have any allergies or sensitivities, please let us know what they are. Many of our ingredients are related to other things that you may not be aware of. For instance almonds are related to plums, so if you are allergic to almonds (we use sweet almond oil), then you might be allergic to apricot oil. Also keep in mind that we do produce all our products utilizing the same equipment and kitchen. Since your safety is of the upmost importance, if you have any sensitivities, please try our products before purchasing anything.

Propolis
Propolis, in Greek, means of the city, is a product of the hives, created by the bees to keep their city (hive) clean of diseases. The bees make propolis from tree resins, honeydew (aphid poop), pollen, and beeswax. They use if for many things inside the hive: to close up gaps, to disinfect the hive, to prevent anything unwanted from contaminating the hive with diseases or illnesses. One of the first uses of propolis in the hives is when an young adult emerges from her cell, she goes back in and cleans her room, giving it a swipe of propolis to disinfect the cell, getting it great for the queen to lay an egg. The second use is to fill up gaps in the hive; this can be a hole in the wall of the hive, to fill space that they deem unnecessary between frames, or between brood chambers. A third use would be to mummify anything inside the hive that they couldn’t move. If a mouse were to get in there and die, they would cover its body with propolis, in affect, sealing up so that the carcass wouldn’t decay and spread diseases in the hive. Now exactly what is in propolis and what does it do? Propolis is loaded with bioflavonoids, which are cell-correcting agents. It has anti-microbial, viral, and bacterial properties. This tincture is a homeopathy remedy and can be used for many things. The tincture made with Everclear Grain alcohol and 30% propolis It is mixed up and allowed to set for up to 6 weeks. This allows all the nutrients to be extracted into the liquid. This tincture can be used both internally and externally for a variety of ailments. In the bottom of the bottle you will see some sediment, this is the actually propolis. You can either use the clear liquid or shake the bottle and use the sediment as well. I like to use it all. Internally: sore throats, cold sores, canker sore, tooth aches, allergies, and over all well-being. Externally: cuts, scrapes, scars, sore muscles, nail fungus, athelets foot, warts, age spots, and more. Dosage: Internally: place a few drops on the effected area or just place ½ dropper full on the tongue and swallow. Externally: please a few drops on the effected area and rub sin. You can cover it with a band-aid if desired. As with any new product, please test it before you fully use it.
