About Little Beehive Farm

Update About Little Beehive Farm

It is with great sadness that I am announcing the closing of little Beehive Farm. After 20 years of keeping bees and making products., I have decided to move on to other endeavors. Beekeeping is in my blood, so I may be back at some point. I will continue to make some of my products like soaps, hand creams, lip balms and creamed honey. So if you need something, please feel free to email me. I will be closing the online store soon, and I will only be doing a few more markets this year. Thank you all for your wonderful support over the last 20 years. I am very blessed for all of my beekeeping friends and my customer.

About the Name

Back in the mid-70s, my mother was working for the nuns at Saint Adalbert’s as a seamstress. She would make, sew and do alternations on the nun’s habits. One of the nuns was an older Polish nun. My mother did amazing work for the nuns. She was a beautiful seamstress, often designing her own cloths. This Polish nun told my mother that our last name, Lulek, meant little beehive. Ul is the Polish word for beehive. So go back several generations, and maybe just maybe, my ancestors in Poland were beekeepers. I like to think so. So it was destined for me to become a beekeeper I think. I know that it resonated with me from the moment I started and I took to it like bees to nectar.
